About RATA Security: The Owners Behind Every Installation
When you call most security companies in Toronto, the person who answers the phone is not the person who designs your system, and neither of them is the person who shows up to run the cables. Every handoff is a place where details get lost. RATA Security was founded in 2024 to remove those handoffs. We are a GTA-based, owner-operated company, and the two people who own the business are the same two people who assess your property, plan your system, and stand behind it after installation day.

A New Company Built on 35 Years of Combined Experience
A security system fails in one of two ways: it is designed badly, or it is delivered badly. A well-chosen camera mounted in the wrong spot is useless, and a perfect camera plan executed late, messy, and without training leaves the client frustrated with equipment they cannot use. RATA was built around both halves of that problem.
The company is young, but the experience behind it is not. One owner brings more than 20 years of technology and systems integration work, including banking infrastructure where downtime and security gaps are simply not accepted. The other brings more than 15 years of project management and operational logistics, the discipline that gets the right equipment to the right site on the right day. In 2024 they put those two careers into one company, so your system is engineered to enterprise standards and delivered the way a well-run project should be: on schedule, clean, and explained.

You will deal with one or both of these people on every project, from the first site visit to the final walkthrough. There is no call centre and no dispatch office in between.
Mohsen Sabousian
Mohsen has spent more than 20 years working in technology and systems integration, with a background that spans complex banking infrastructure, robust network systems, and advanced security technology. In banking environments, a network is expected to run without interruption and resist intrusion by design, and that is the standard he applies to every camera system RATA installs.
In practice, this shows up in the details most installers skip. Modern cameras are network devices, so Mohsen designs them that way: a properly sized PoE budget so cameras do not drop out at night when infrared turns on, NVR storage calculated for the retention period you actually need, cameras kept off default passwords, and remote access configured through encrypted credentials rather than open ports. He leads system design and site assessment on RATA projects and is the person to ask when a job involves integrating cameras, alarms, and access control into one system.
Mohamad Sabousian
Mohamad brings more than 15 years of experience in project management and operational logistics. His job at RATA is to make sure every installation is executed properly from start to finish: equipment confirmed before the install date, cable routes agreed before anyone drills, the work area left clean, and the client trained before the team leaves.
He is usually your main point of contact once a quote is approved. That means clear timelines, updates when something changes, and one person who knows your project instead of a ticket number. After the installation, he is also the person who follows up to make sure the system is doing what you expected.

Security is increasingly one part of a connected home. We set up cameras, video doorbells, alarms, and door access to work together where the hardware allows it, and we can diagnose why a camera keeps dropping offline, from PoE power to recorder settings.
